As a classroom teacher and reading specialist for over eighteen years, I have effectively guided my students to achieve greater academic gains while empowering them with the confidence they need to continue to grow and succeed. My interest in designing curriculum and working collaboratively with teachers to improve instruction have empowered me with the knowledge and determination to promote success for the teachers and students I work with. During the 2016-2017 school year, I will be training K to 2 teachers in NYC public schools to improve reading proficiency for all students. As an aspiring educational leader, I aim to create a collaborative culture that strives to fulfill the mission of the school. I am deeply committed to building bridges among all stakeholders; and I truly feel that strong partnerships founded on trust pave the road to success in any learning organization.
